Product Specific Information
GB-10355 detects White Spot Syndrome Virus VP28 in infected shrimp samples.

GB-10355 has been successfully used in ELISA and Western blot procedures.

The GB-10355 immunogen is a synthetic peptide located on the VP 28 central domain corresponding to residues 69-148 of shrimp WSSV.
General Information
White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) occurs world wide and causes high mortality and considerable economic damage to the shrimp farming industry. The VP28 was one of the envelope proteins of WSSV. Almost all shrimp infected with WSSV in ponds die within 3 to 4 days after the first dead shrimp was observed with gross lesions ranging from abnormal red body discoloration to white spots in the cuticle.
