Product Specific Information
GB-10397 detects Vaccinia Virus fusion protein in rabbit samples.

GB-10397 has been successfully used in ELISA procedures.

The GB-10397 immunogen is a synthetic peptide containing residues on the predicted N-terminal of fusion protein (A27L) in vaccinia virus. The primary sequence of the peptide immunogen for this antibody is highly conservative with the counterparts of Cowpo
General Information
Fusion protein plays an important role when an enveloped virus enters into a cells. Vaccinia virus has a wide host range, it is conceivable that certain cellular components that are ubiquitously expressed on cells mediates virus infection. Now the study of the entry process, attachment, and fusion along with the proteins and receptors involved is complicated. During vaccinia virus infection, the fusion process is attributed to the action of the14-KDa protein (encoded by the A27L). N-terminal of 14-KDa protein can identify the heparan sulfate of the cell surface. It interacts with the negative charges of sulfates of glycosamino-glycans (GAGs).
