Product Specific Information
ABS 006-01-02 detects native Pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) from human samples.

ABS 006-01-02 has been successfully used in Western blotting, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA procedures. By Western blot, only unreduced forms of PAPA-A can be detected. In sandwich ELISA with a polyclonal antibody in coat, ABS 006-01-02 only reacts poorly with PAPP-A in third trimester serum.

The ABS 006-01-02 immunogen is purified human PAPP-A.

The epitope of ABS 006-01-02 is different from BTE 004-09-02 and ABS 006-24-02. The epitope is located on the PAPP-A subunit of the heterotetramer.
General Information
Pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A, Insulin-like growth factor binding protein-4 protease, PAPP-A-proMBP complex) is a large heterottetrameric glycoprotein of approximately 500 kDa, which was first discovered in serum from pregnant women. The hetreotetramer consists of two PAPP-A subunits and two proMBP subunits. Low maternal serum levels of PAPP-A in first trimester biochemical screening is used as a marker of Down’s syndrome (trisomy 21).
