Purity/Antibody Specificity: The precipitin lines against goat anti-human whole serum are the same as those against goat anti-human IgG, Fc fragment specific when assayed by immunoelectrophoresis. No cross-reactivity was observed against goat anti-human IgM, Fc5-mu fragment specific or goat anti-human IgA, alpha chain specific.

This antibody is recommended for use in blocking assays, immunohistochemical, immunocytochemical and immunofluorescent applications.

Storage: After opening, dilute only enough antibody for a single day’s use.

The human source material used to make this antibody has been tested and found negative for Anti-HIV-1/HIV-2),HCV antibodies, HBsAg and ALT (SGPT).

General Information
IgG, a monomer, is the predominant Ig class present in human serum. Produced as part of the secondary immune response to an antigen, this class of immunoglobulin constitutes approximately 75% of total serum Ig. IgG is the only class of Ig that can cross the placenta in humans, and it is largely responsible for protection of the newborn during the first months of life. Because of its relative abundance and excellent specificity toward antigens, IgG is the principle antibody used in immunological research and clinical diagnostics. These immunoglobulins are useful as qualitative or quantitative protein standards and as blocking agents in certain immunodetection methods. 31154 is a highly-purified IgG immunoglobulin from the serum of a non-immunized animal, primarily used as an experimental control.
