Product Specific Information
MA1-82981 detects Adenovirus Hexon in infected samples. This antibody has known reactivity with at least 17 serotypes of Adenovirus, including types 40 & 41. MA1-82981 has been successfully used in immunofluorescence and ELISA applications. This antibody is suitable for use as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with MA1-82980 as the capture antibody. The MA1-82981 immunogen is ATCC VR5 virus.
General Information
Hexon protein is a major coat protein of adenoviruses. Adenoviruses capsids have three principal protein components: the hexon, the penton, and the fiber. Hexon consists of three subunits together forming two major components of different morphological symmetry. A triangular top with three towers of density is superimposed on a more bulky pseudo-hexagonal base.
