| PA1-16923 reacts with WFS1 in human, murine, non-human primate and rat samples. PA1-16923 has been successfully used in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry, Immunohistochemistry-Frozen, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin and Immunoprecipitation applications. The PA1-16923 immunogen is a 110 amino acid sequence from the N-terminal region of the human WFS1 protein. |
| General Information |
| WFS1 is a novel component of Wolfram syndrome, a rare form of juvenile diabetes. WFS1 plays an important role in maintaining homeostasis of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in the pancreas. It is normally up-regulated during insulin secretion, whereas inactivation of the protein can cause ER stress. Chronic ER stress is a major involvement in Wolfram syndrome. |
